It was a perfect fall day, and the sun was shining on us in SW Portland. Here are some of my favorites from this fall family session!Read More
Last week I found myself in Grand Rapids, MI, and as luck would have it, my sweet friends, Oona and Miles, were nearby in Kalamazoo for a wedding at the same time! Engaged just recently, we decided an impromptu engagement shoot was a must. The cicadas were whirring, the air was warm, and it was raining somewhere nearby, but not on us. Here are my favorites from our little mini shoot.
As much as I love weddings, for my own I just wanted to do something low-key and small. So, we eloped in the rain at Sauvie Island and took a short trip to Joseph, OR for our honeymoon. Thank you to The Jennings Hotel for providing such a gorgeous place to stay, and a special shout out to Renee for being sweet enough to share one of her morel spots with us! We had a wonderful time and I have a feeling we'll be back next year.
I take pictures on my phone constantly, but somehow, even as a professional photographer, I never seem to remember to shoot with my big-girl gear, so it was really nice to shoot some personal photos for a change. Some of those below...
Damiana and I have been friends online for more years than either of us can count. We grew up in different states, but now we live within a few miles of each other in NE Portland. I had so much fun meeting her, Lex, and their son Felix for the first time last weekend. We met up at Tanner Springs Park, and got the full range of Portland weather in the short time we spent there! Felix loved crawling around the park, meeting a dog that was about the same size as him, and watching the city bus roar by.
Thank you, Damiana and Lex for thinking of me for Felix's one-year-old photos! Congrats on making it through your first year of parenting—that's no small feat. And most importantly, Happy Birthday Felix! <3
I don't normally cry at weddings....but this one got me. Jeff and Shawna's friends and family made the trek out to a very special place in the Mt. Hood Forest to celebrate their wedding day with them, and although there were a few bumps in the road (literally and figuratively), the ceremony (you know, just the most important part!!) could not have been more perfect.
Shawna found me through the Portland Hikers Facebook group and I hope to run into her, Jeff, and their pup, Willow on the trail someday!
